Data Privacy Clause

The Philippine Journal of Nursing (PJN) respects and upholds the privacy rights of its authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other users of the journal website. Personal information collected through the journal site, including names, professional affiliations, email addresses, and other information voluntarily provided by users, shall be used solely for purposes directly related to the editorial, peer review, publication, and administration of the journal.

PJN is committed to protecting personal information and shall not sell, rent, or disclose such information to third parties for purposes unrelated to the journal's operations, except with the user's consent, when required or permitted by law, or when disclosure is necessary for legitimate and lawful journal-related purposes. Personal information is processed in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules and regulations, as well as applicable data protection standards and principles.

Data Retention and Security

PJN retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to support the journal's editorial and publication records, or as required by applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies.

The journal implements appropriate organizational, physical, and technical measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, misuse, or destruction. Access to personal information is limited to authorized individuals who require such information to perform legitimate journal-related functions.

By submitting a manuscript, registering with the journal, participating in peer review, or otherwise providing personal information through the PJN website, users acknowledge that their personal information may be collected, processed, stored, and used for legitimate journal-related purposes, subject to applicable data protection laws and the rights of data subjects under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
