Policy Statement

PJN is an open-access journal. All published scholarly articles are freely and immediately accessible online to readers worldwide, without subscription or access fees. PJN does not charge authors submission fees or article processing charges (APCs). Submission, peer review, and publication decisions are based on scholarly merit and compliance with PJN's editorial policies, and are independent of PNA membership, institutional affiliation, nationality, country of origin, or ability to pay.

PJN also publishes a limited number of print copies. Complimentary print copies may be provided to authors and other designated recipients in accordance with journal practice, while additional print copies may be made available to individual or institutional subscribers upon payment of applicable subscription, printing, handling, or distribution fees. Fees associated with the print edition do not restrict free online access to PJN's published scholarly content.

1. Scope and Applicability

This policy applies to all content published in PJN, and to every reader and author regardless of location, institutional affiliation, or ability to pay. It takes effect upon adoption and applies from that date forward.

2. Definitions

Open Access: A publishing model in which content is freely available to readers online, with no payment, registration, or subscription required.

Article Processing Charge (APC): A fee some journals charge authors to cover publishing costs. PJN does not charge this fee for online publication.

Diamond Open Access: An open-access model with no fees to either readers or authors, funded instead by the publisher or a supporting institution.
