We are Moving to an Open Journal System-Based Publishing Platform for PJN

Policy Statement
The Philippine Journal of Nursing (PJN) is the official, peer-reviewed scholarly journal of the Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. (PNA). PJN publishes original research, systematic and other scholarly reviews, concept analyses, case studies and case reports, and scholarly commentary that contribute to the advancement of nursing science, practice, education, leadership and administration, health policy, and population health.
While grounded in Philippine nursing and responsive to health priorities in the Asia-Pacific region, PJN welcomes scholarly contributions from nurses, health professionals, researchers, educators, and policymakers worldwide whose work contributes to nursing knowledge, professional practice, health systems, and population health.
PJN publishes in English. Manuscripts must be written in clear, coherent scholarly English sufficient to permit rigorous peer review and accurate communication of the work. Authors may be asked to undertake language editing when language substantially limits evaluation or comprehension of a manuscript; such requests are based on manuscript quality, not on an author's nationality, country of origin, or first language.
1. Scope and Applicability
This policy applies to all prospective authors, and to the editorial team when assessing whether a submission fits PJN's mission and subject areas. It covers every submission type PJN accepts, and takes effect upon adoption by the Editorial Board.
2. Definitions
Scope Fit: The degree to which a submission's topic, population, and contribution align with PJN's stated mission and subject areas.
Target Readership: Nurses, nurse educators, researchers, health policymakers, and other health professionals, in the Philippines and internationally, who make use of PJN's published scholarship.
